Critical//final

The artist I choose to critic is Skid Robot, he is a street artist who draws dream bubbles on the walls behind sleeping or passed-out homeless people, and he fills those bubbles with what he imagines their fantasies would be. He also draws scenes around where they are staying, painting  woods behind tents or 2D bedrooms around mattresses on the streets. At first when I just saw the picture of an old homeless man laying down in his matress and a 2D painting of a bedroom in the back of him i felt bad because he doesnt have that and the artist shouldnt really be using them and exploiting them. When I then read the article on the picture i understood what he was doing and how he would pay back. I thought it was really cool of him to give back to the homeless by giving them care packages since he was using them as a subject of art and would ask for permission to paint in the wall they were by so they would not feel offended. Skid said he felt bad that he was using "So the next day, I went to the 99-cent store and bought snacks and toiletries and made care packages for these people. That way, when I do roll up, I have something to give them." I think that Skid also raises awarness and actually gets the people who use to pass right by them to stop and look and think. I feel like that is what art should be about to make you stop and look and think. He is currently raising money at gofundme so that he can bring his art and care packages to other cities across the country. When you see the picture you may think that the homless person drew it, but i think that was what the artist was going for so that the people that stop and look at the art and see how its what they wish or dream of. The craftsmanship isnt really great but i think only since street art is illegal he doesnt take his take to make it perfect. I think only some people can relate to this because some of the most successful people today started out woth nothing and when they see this they would be reminded of their past. picture to critical final
